# FAQ

Common questions about Scout.

### Is Scout free?

Yes. Scout is free for reps during beta.

### Does Scout send emails on its own?

No. Every email Scout writes is a draft in your own inbox. Nothing sends unless you send it, in your inbox or with the Send button in Slack. See [Drafts and approval](/scout/how-scout-works/drafts.md).

### Do I need Spara's inbound agents to use Scout?

No. Scout works from the signals you already have in your inbox, your CRM and your other tools. If your company also runs Spara's agents on its website, Scout gets more to go on: a buyer asking your website agent how you compare, or finishing your product demo without booking.

### What does Scout connect to?

Scout works in Slack, by text, and in Gmail or Outlook. It reads your CRM (HubSpot or Salesforce), LinkedIn, and any tool in its integrations catalog: call recorders, prospecting data, product usage, intent and more. Any tool with a hosted MCP server works too. See [Integrations](/scout/connections/integrations.md).

### Can I use Outlook instead of Gmail?

Yes. Scout reads Outlook and puts its drafts in your Outlook drafts. See [Gmail and Outlook](/scout/connections/gmail-and-outlook.md).

### What if I don't use Slack?

Text Scout instead. Everything Scout does in Slack, it does by text, in shorter messages. See [Text](/scout/connections/text.md).

### Can my teammates get their own Scout?

Yes. Ask Scout to invite them by work email. A colleague at your company joins your team's Scout; anyone else gets a Scout of their own.

### How is this different from asking a general AI assistant to write an email?

A general assistant waits to be asked. Scout watches your accounts and every signal around the clock, learns your voice and your jobs, and has the next move drafted in your inbox before you'd think to ask.

### How do I stop Scout texting me?

Tell it to stop, in any words, and it stops. Ask for the texts back when you want them. See [Text](/scout/connections/text.md).

### How do I start over?

Write "redo my onboarding" and Scout starts again from its welcome, keeping your jobs and what it learned about what you sell.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.spara.com/scout/trust/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
